Healing Your Skin, Body Naturally With Emu Oil

For thousands of years, Aborigines in Australia have used emu oil for everything from healing wounds to protection from sunburn in the harsh Australian outback. Today, emu oil is still used and renown for its amazing healing properties.

Though Aborigines relied on it as a cure-all for thousands of years, modern-day customers have begun to realize just how powerful this natural oil is for relieving conditions for everything from arthritis to eczema.

Where Emu Oil Comes From

Emu oil comes from the emu bird, a pre-historic, flightless bird that originates in Australia. The oil is expressed from the fatty layer on the back of the emu bird. Emu oil is one of the most effective natural remedies on the market.

It has only been in recent years that consumers in the United States have begun to understand the powerful benefits that come with emu oil. The oil is rich in monounsaturated fats and essential fatty acids – Omega 3, 6 and 9 oils that rebuild the body at the cellular level. Studies have shown that 70 percent of emu oil is made up of these essential fatty acids.

Emu oil is also a proven anti-inflammatory that makes it particularly effective at treating arthritis.

The Many Uses Of Emu Oil

The uses of emu oil are wide-ranging. Emu oil is a natural healing oil.

Scientists have found it is effective for:

  1. Emu oil is effective for treating burns. It heals sunburn with less pain and scarring and adds moisture to burn victims’ skin and promotes faster healting.
  2. Emu oil is effective minimizes wound scarring. The oil has been found to be effective at preventing keloids – scar tissue that grows over healed injuries.
  3. Emu oil lessens swelling, itch and discomfort of insect bites.
  4.
  5. Emu oil relieves muscle pain and skin injuries, and helps them heal faster.
  6. Emu oil relieves the inflammation of arthritis.
  7. Emu oil has additional special properties such as it prevents bacteria growth; is non-hypoallerginic; doesn’t clog pores; absorbs deep into the skin; and has no known side effects.

An Emu is the only bird that gives birth to it's chicks instead of hatching them from eggs?

How closely related is the Emu to the Platypus? Also, why are some rabbits called hares and others called bunnies? Finally, while we all can see that the rhinocerous is a direct desendent of the triceratops, what dinausaur is the elephant directly related too and why?

No birds give birth to live young - they all lay eggs, emus included. Here's an image of an emu with an egg:

There are several different species of rabbits and hares. All belong to the order Lagomorpha and the family Leporidae. Hares are generally larger than rabbits, with longer legs and ears and bigger, more bulbous eyes. They usually live alone, whilst rabbits live in colonies, and their young are born fully furred and with their eyes open, whilst rabbit young are born blind and hairless. Rabbits usually live underground in burrows, whilst hares live above ground, sheltering in a simple depression in the ground called a form. 'Bunnies' usually refers to pet rabbits, which are descended from the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), but it can be applied to any rabbit species. Hares are not called bunnies, but confusingly, some hares are called 'jackrabbits'. Here are a couple of images for you to compare:

European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus):

Brown hare (Lepus europaeus):

Neither rhinoceroses nor elephants are descended from dinosaurs. Both are mammals, descended from the mammal-like reptiles. The only animals living today that are descended from dinosaurs are the birds - they are the direct descendants of the theropod dinosaurs.
